FAREWELL
Many are the stages from the cradle to the grave,
Diversities in journey to each of us, God gave.
Within each stage of journey lie paths that one can choose,
Depending on the chosen path, we either gain or lose.
Deceptions and distractions along this journey lie,
Illusions of elation, beckon you and I.
Depending on the choice one makes determines what will be,
In the stage that's soon to follow, for all eternity.
As I travel Life's weary journey,
And plod through the gathering years,
With my burdens of care and sorrow,
O'er a pathway bedewed with tears.
If, perchance, for a fleeting moment
My heart should with rapture swell,
I have added but one more sorrow,
When I bid you all - "Farewell".
This is where it ends people. The first of many LASTS. The end of many FIRSTS. As I give up on my Sounds of Silence, forget not that I once spoke. Forget not, I once sang. And then there was life, that took it all away. And then there is the residue - something DUE !
I may never be back. If I make it, consider it the victory of Silence over Sounds. If I do not, let these sounds echo. And fill the emptiness of me.
Smiles...
